Steps for Life Changes

Steps for Life Change
2 February 2011
2 Feb
On 12 January a routine colonoscopy spotted a tumor.   At a visit with the surgeon on the 17th I was told that the tumor was hard for pathologists to ID… I began to fear the worst.  On the 19th the worst came; I was told it was malignant melanoma.  A plan for surgery was set for 3 February, however, there was a PET scan on the 28th  and this showed, in addition to the colon spot, spots on my gall bladder, adrenal gland, and lower right lung.   I reasoned going in that if this cancer is in the colon then it is likely other places.   This further bad news was received on Feb 1st and the surgery was cancelled in favor of a high resolution CT scans and biopsies to see if the new spots were also melanoma or something else more mundane or perhaps another cancer type.  That is where we are now.
Beginning on the 19th I started taking the steps required to ensure that Rosemarie would be taken care of.  I also had to take steps to get my affairs in order with respect to the house and the laboratory.
That's it for now.
